About Me
I grew up in a family of readers and teachers, so it's no surprise that I became one myself. I teach chemistry at Southern Utah University and love to write (and read!) middle grade fiction. I also contribute to the writing blog Thinking Through Our Fingers and am represented by Ammi-Joan Paquette of the Erin Murphy Literary Agency.
My first novel, Discovering Isaac, won the 2012 Juvenile Book prize in the Utah Arts Council's Original Writing Competition. I am currently working on a second and third novel (Connor's Astronomical Summer and Eddie, Reactive) that would be companion novels to Discovering Isaac. I write real-life stories with humor (hopefully), adventure, and a little bit of science. I know that kids will learn best from stories that they love.
I live in Southern Utah with my husband and three kids.
